This is arguably the longest of the London tours, and the one that includes the most locations. In fact, there's so many that some have to be only fleetingly referred to as passed by enroute to the major locations.
From the initial rendezvous point at the bottom of Park Lane, you'll be immediately immersed into the shadowy world of Russian espionage and conspiracy in recent years. Arguably the major focus of the tour is the Alexanfer Litvinenko affair, passing by several locations on what is grimly referred to as 'the polonium trail' as the fomer FSB officer's last days in London are revisited.
But it's not all Litvinenko. Other figures such as Boris Berezovsky, and glamorous Russian agent Anna Chapman are also highlighted. Furthermore, the tour also goes back in time, to the height of the Cold War. You'll discover key KGB signal site locations and learn more about the crippling paranoia and molehunts affecting MI5 in the early 1960's. And as if all this isn't already enough, you'll head back even further in time to learn more about the life - and last days in London - of the most notorious - and misperceived - of the Cambridge Spies, Guy Burgess.
This tour has MANY spy locations en-route that can’t all be discussed in detail due to time constraints, but will be pointed out along the way.
There's an (un)healthy dose of sex, violence, treachery and betrayal, - especially the last three! And make no mistake, this tour is 'all killer, no filler'. This is the most content-rich spy walking tour you'll find probably not only in London but anywhere else!
Please note that due to the subject matter and level of detail provided, the ‘Trail is not suitable for children. Furthermore, parts of the tour will be set on some of Mayfair's busiest streets; morning tours are advised for maximum enjoyment and convenience.
